The Boogens (1981)

 

This was Michael's favorite movie on Newhart. Peter Scolari just died it was reported today, and the Halloween episode of Newhart, Take Me To Your Loudon, where The Boogens is mentioned, is not only one of the best Halloween episodes ever, but one of the funniest sitcom episodes I have watched. Michael also mentions Klute. I came across The Boogens streaming one night and I immediately had to watch it. Stars Anne-Marie Martin, Sledge Hammer's partner on Sledge Hammer!, and she also cowrote Twister with her husband at the time, Michael Crichton. More of an old-fashioned horror movie, it's not bad.
